Contraindications
Virtual Reality Therapy should not be used on people
sensitive to video games or with a history of epileptic seizures.26
Patients diagnosed with any of the following
conditions are contraindicated for VRT.
- A skin infection or broken skin on the head
or face
- An infectious disease
- Severe motion sickness
- Extreme vision or hearing impairment
- Agitated depression
- Psychotic disease
- Paranoid disease
- Unstable dissociative disorder
- Borderline personality disorder
- Acute brain syndrome
- Chronic brain syndrome
- Epilepsy
- Schizophrenia
- Dementia
- Delirium
- Extreme vertigo
